Australian Competition gone wrong - 2Day FM Investigated!

It seems that radio station 2Day FM have caused quite a stir when an radio competition they were running went seriously wrong resulting in police and ambulance officers being called to the scene of a home.

The competition which involved a caller making a prank call for the chance to win $1000 went terribly wrong.

The competitor, a station listener had been given a script by the staff of the radio station, requiring her to convince her sister their mother had fallen over at home, suffering serious injuries. It was at this point that things went wrong!

The listener’s sister panicked and dialled 000 to report the incident.

With 000 operators unaware that the call was in fact part of the prank competition police and ambulance officers were dispatched to the scene only to discover their time had been wasted.

An investigation is to take place regarding the incident.

WOW!!!! Perhaps their needs to be some form of common sense used in cases where these types of incidents could happen… definitely a learning experience for 2Day FM I’m sure!

Competitions, Prizes & New Year’s Resolutions

January 6, 2009 by admin

Well, I’m a few days late to be writing about New Year’s Resolutions, but now is as good time as any hey!!!

There are a few New Year’s Resolutions for Prizetastic and a Few REALLY handy resolutions that anyone who wants to win prizes and create a real hobby out of winning should focus on in 2009, so here goes -

Prizetastic Resolutions -

Must do Resolutions for Anyone who Wants TO WIN PRIZES :)

  • Enter at least one competition a day (There will be at LEAST 7 competitions posted on prizetastic each week so if you only enter those you’ll be sticking to that resolution…. EASY) :)
  • Read terms and conditions thoroughly - It’s a horrible feeling to win and not be awarded the prize due to not being eligible so save the heartbreak and read t&c before entering
  • Get Creative - Prizetastic will be bringing you more tips on how to increase your chances or think outside the box to win creative style competitions and sweepstakes, so take the time and just give creative competitions a go….. who know’s you might just win :)
  • Track entries & Winnings - This isn’t “vital” but it can be handy to keep an eye on what you have and haven’t entered, and especially for 25 word or less answers to note down the competition they were for and the answer. If you strike a winner it’s great to be able to modify it a little and use it again… the same with answers that don’t win, you just never know what judges are looking for!!!

So there you go, it’s a neat little list to focus on for the new year…. I’m actually very excited about this year and what it has to offer… there’s lots happening in our house so it’s looking to be exciting all around..

Good Luck and here’s wishing you a lucky, winning year xxx

Pre-planning gone wrong! Scheduled Wordpress Posts Failure!

November 17, 2008 by admin

I knew I wouldn’t be able to give much attention to my blog over the past week or so and I really didn’t want to leave a week long gap without writing anything. So, trying to be organised, I pre wrote some posts and scheduled them to launch onto the blog automatically……….

Not sure if anyone noticed, but that definitely didn’t happen!!! Here I come a few days later only to realise that nothing has in fact been posted on site :( So sorry folks, my apologies, but be sure I am here, in person ready to spend this week catching up on some really great stuff!!!

This week I’ll be launching our first competition,…… Writing some really great and inspiring tips for words or less slogan tie breaker competitions, and tracking down some really great competitions for everyone to enter.

Thanks for your patience and I look forward to an exciting week!!
