Question: Prizetastic, how do you keep track of all the log ins and passwords for the sites that require membership to enter their competitions? Also is there an easy way of filling in all my information instead of having to type it over and over again?
Thanks,
Pam.
Hi Pam,
Thanks so much for your question, it’s a really valid one and one that many seasoned compers have solved you’ll be glad to know.
There’s a secret time saver you may not have heard about…. Not only will it remember all your logins and passwords for as many sites as you like, it will also fill in ALL your information with just one click of a button.
Picture this……. you are entering hundreds of competitions per month, and have acquired a huge list of login names and passwords and it can sometimes become really difficult to remember each one. Not only that, you’re surely developing “compers” RSI from typing in your name, address, phone, date of birth and other details OVER AND OVER again!!!
Well, here’s the secret….
There’s actually a software program that will do ALL these things for you and it will save you a stack of typing AND a stack of time, meaning you can enter MORE competitions in less time and get more prizes
I use roboform and so do most of my comping friends to save a load of time and aching fingers when end of month hits and there’s so many competitions to enter you never think you’ll finish them all!!
It’s used worldwide by millions of people mainly to keep passwords secure, but for our hobby it turns out to be the perfect companion.
There are 2 choices for download, the free option which works fully and will store the same information as the pro option although has some limits to the number of users and passwords, or the pro option without limitation.
If you’ve never used roboform you HAVE to try it now, I guarantee it will save you time, and you’ll wonder how you lived without it
Pre-planning gone wrong! Scheduled Wordpress Posts Failure!
I knew I wouldn’t be able to give much attention to my blog over the past week or so and I really didn’t want to leave a week long gap without writing anything. So, trying to be organised, I pre wrote some posts and scheduled them to launch onto the blog automatically……….
Not sure if anyone noticed, but that definitely didn’t happen!!! Here I come a few days later only to realise that nothing has in fact been posted on site
So sorry folks, my apologies, but be sure I am here, in person ready to spend this week catching up on some really great stuff!!!
This week I’ll be launching our first competition,…… Writing some really great and inspiring tips for words or less slogan tie breaker competitions, and tracking down some really great competitions for everyone to enter.
Thanks for your patience and I look forward to an exciting week!!
How to Write Great Competition and Sweepstake Answers!

If there’s one type of competition or sweepstake worth entering, it’s those that require a skill based answer in order for your entry to be valid.
You know the type…. to win, just answer this question “blah blah blah” in 25 words or less.
In Australia these are called “words or less” (WOL) competitions, generally they are known as “tie-breakers” or “slogan” contests in other countries such as the UK or US.
No matter which country you are entering these competitions in, the main principals for winning are the same. Sure, it takes practice, patience and sometimes hard work to produce a winning answer, but you’d be surprised what answers win sometimes. It can just be a “top of your head” few words.
Here’s my top tips for now about how to increase your chances of winning this type of competition:
Make sure you enter: As a general rule, the number of entries into these types of competitions is much lower, this in turn means you have a greater chance of winning.
Enter ANYTHING: If you can’t think of a clever, funny or stand out entry believe me when I say it REALLY doesn’t matter. Enter anything that comes to the top of your head, even if it seems silly. You have to be in it to win it, and you just really never know what the judges are looking for. Revert back to tip one in this case also, if you find it hard to enter, then chances are so does everyone else
Stand Out: OK, so this is easier said than done sometimes. There are lucky moments when witty or funny answers pop into my head, and other times I can’t seem to think of anything to write. But if you can, especially if you have skills with writing humour or wit, make your entries stand out in this way. Totally left of field way out entries can also work well.
Feature the Product or Company: It is often possible to include the product or company featuring the competition in your answer. Use one of their slogans and put a twist on it, use the product name, and make the representatives feel good about your praise of the product.
No single method is a guarantee for winning these competitions, and of course there is much more to discuss, but for now, don’t be scared of entering words or less competitions, give it a go and you just never know when a prize might arrive on your doorstep ![]()

I’m so glad to be making some new friends in the blogosphere, and excited that everyone seems excited about “comping” and learning more.
One thing I have to say straight up is that ANYONE can win, its all about strategy, timing, learning a few tips and tricks and plenty of luck thrown in…….
There’s so much to write about I can blab on about competitions forever, but firstly I’m wondering
What is it that YOU would like to know about my hobby? What would YOU like to know about entering competitions? It can be anything, from privacy and scams to understanding terms and conditions down to the basics of the difference between the way internet and mail in competitions work.
If you’re from the US of course, competitions are generally referred to as sweepstakes or contests but it’s all the same principal, I’d love to hear from anyone worldwide who might have a question related to the most fun, winning hobby of all
Post your question as a reply to this post and I’ll share anything I know ![]()
