Want a Sneak Peak at Some Competition Entries?

If you’re just starting out trying to enter Word or Less Competitions, (tie- breakers or slogan contests as they are otherwise known) then it can sometimes be difficult to know if your entries are good enough to stand out and win a prize.

I’ve tracked down a current competition running where entries are published on the website.

The competition is running for Lancome. This competition is still running so do your best and submit an answer!!! (it closes on the 22nd November, 2008).

The prize is a trip to Paris, something that would be a dream for many people. I don’t enter these competitions because we can’t take the kids and don’t have a sitter. To enter you must write in 25 words or less “Your ultimate Magnifique Moment”.

If you need some pointers for your own entry then check out my tips on writing great competition entries.

The great thing about this competition is that you can view the other entries. Head over to the site and click on “share your magnifique moments”, all the current entries will appear in front of you. A quick hint here is that it is probably best to write your entry first, otherwise you may get influenced by other entries. This can actually¬† make it harder to write a great entry.

I don’t want you to read the entries for the sake of copying them, but so you can see the competition from a promoter’s point of view. Take a look at the pages and pages of entries. Are there many that are similar? Yep there sure are! Read a few pages and you’ll find your mind start to wander! There you go, if you were a promoter how would YOU notice an entry?

It’s always good to get an inside view of competitions, contests and sweepstakes and how they are run. When writing your tie - breakers, slogans or words or less answers it really does pay to stand out.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the insite (of course this post will probably become irrelevant once that site disappears after the competition ends, but hopefully some of you get a chance to check it out)

Fingers crossed a Prizetastic reader can be the Winner.
